If you’ve never heard of Reshat Mati before, you’re in for a treat. At just 13 years old, Reshat was a champion boxer, kickboxer, and mixed martial artist. He’s so good that it’s often a struggle to find other kids willing to fight him.
The dedication, focus, and love he has for combat sports is impressive and highly motivating. He trains for 2.5 hours a day, five days a week with the training taking place in the evenings after school.
Reshat started training age four and was competing in jujitsu and grappling tournaments at just five years old. At age 13, he held some very impressive accolades:
- Ranked No. 1 in boxing U.S.A 100 pound division
- Ranked No.1 in the world for kickboxing
- Undefeated in MMA and muay thai
- 20 championship belts – junior olympic boxing champion, world kickboxing champion (4 years in a row), North American submission grappling champion

Boxing is Reshat’s favourite sport and the discipline he has chosen to focus on. At the time of shooting the video, Reshat had 75 amateur fights with 70 wins. The losses were from fighting bigger and older opponents that he is forced to fight as more evenly matched opponents often pull out upon learning who Reshat is.
